## In one sentence

Arxova is a free health data and intelligence platform that brings a person's medical records, lab results, medications, and wearable data into one place they own and control.

Tagline (use exactly as written): **Every layer of your health. Owned by you. Controlled by you.**

---

## The problem

A typical person's health information lives at three or four different providers, a pharmacy, and a lab. None of it travels with the patient.

The information exists. It is spread across a hospital system, a pharmacy, a lab, an imaging center, a wearable app, and a patient portal that was set up once and never opened again. It exists everywhere except with the person it describes.

That gap shows up at the worst moments:

- Meeting a new specialist who asks for last year's bloodwork.
- An urgent care or emergency visit in another city.
- Traveling abroad and needing a medication list.
- A decision that depends on what your numbers were doing six months ago.

Most people cannot produce their own health history on request — not their medications, not their last labs, not what the specialist actually said. Not because they weren't paying attention, but because no one gave them a single place to keep it. Records stay with the institution that generated them. The patient walks out with a printout and the hope that the next team can piece the chart together.

Nobody designed it this way on purpose. The systems that hold health records were built for administrative processing, not for the person the data belongs to. Arxova exists to close that gap.

---

## Mission

**The democratization of personal health data:** making health information accessible, understandable, portable, and directed by the person it describes.

Not a movement or a manifesto — just closing the distance between a person and their own records.

## Vision

A future where people get free, immediate access to their personal health data, can understand it, and can direct their full health picture.

## How Arxova works: Access. Understand. Direct.

### Access
Medical records from more than 25,000 hospitals and health institutions (via FHIR connections through Fasten Health), plus labs, medications, and wearable readings, brought together in one place. No remembering portal logins, no waiting on a fax request. The history updates as new records and readings come in.

Wearables and health sources: Apple Health, Android Health Connect, Oura, WHOOP, Withings, Polar, Garmin, Fitbit, Samsung Health — plus anything already syncing to Apple Health or Health Connect, including many continuous glucose monitors.

### Understand
ARIA is Arxova's health intelligence layer. When a new result arrives — often in the portal days before anyone calls to explain it — ARIA helps the person understand it against their own history: their trend over months, their medications, their prior results, rather than a reference range built for an average body.

ARIA is non-diagnostic. It is not a medical device, not FDA-cleared, and not a substitute for professional medical advice.

### Direct
The person decides where their health data goes: a provider, a researcher, or no one. Sharing is explicit, permissioned, and revocable. Nothing moves without the person's decision.

## Who Arxova is for

### Individuals
Anyone who wants one place for their records, labs, medications, and wearables — and wants to be able to reach it when it counts. Someone switching doctors. A person traveling who wants their history with them. Someone who just wants to understand a lab result without waiting a week for a callback.

The app is free on iOS and Android. No subscription, no card required.

### People living with chronic illness
Chronic and complex care is where scattered records hurt most. Someone with heart failure, peripheral artery disease, diabetes, an autonomic condition, a hereditary cancer risk, or several conditions at once may see a cardiologist, a primary care physician, a specialist in another health system, a pharmacy, and a lab — each holding one piece.

For these patients, Arxova means:
- A single, current medication list they can actually name and show.
- Lab trends over months and years in one view, not one result at a time.
- Wearable data (activity, weight, resting heart rate, glucose where available) next to their records.
- ARIA to help explain what changed and how it compares to their own baseline.
- The ability to share that full picture with a care team before an appointment, and revoke it after.

### Private practices and clinics
Through Arxova's provider console, practices can support patients between visits using data the patient has chosen to share. What exists today:

- A panel of consented patients, ordered so open alerts and missing data come first.
- Change-from-baseline alerts for heart failure (weight gain, declining activity, reported symptoms) and peripheral artery disease (declining walking tolerance, declining activity, red-flag symptoms).
- Trend charts for steps, weight, resting heart rate, and walking distance; a walking view with bouts, cadence, and distance.
- Care-plan recommendations with adherence counts, and staff tasks with owners, due dates, and an overdue view.
- A care-management workspace: timer, append-only time log, encounter notes that lock when signed and export as PDF and FHIR DocumentReference, TCM due dates, and a monthly minutes summary (CSV/PDF).
- The patient's medication list and recent discharge dates, when the patient shares them.
- Per-data-type, revocable patient grants.

Care-management programs with dedicated workflows in the console:
- **CCM** — Chronic Care Management: ongoing support between visits for patients with two or more chronic conditions.
- **TCM** — Transitional Care Management: the first 30 days after a hospital or facility discharge.
- **APCM** — Advanced Primary Care Management: longitudinal primary care managed as a monthly service.
- **PCM** — Principal Care Management: focused management of one serious chronic condition, common in cardiology, vascular, and pulmonology practices.
- **CoCM** — Psychiatric Collaborative Care Model: behavioral health care alongside medical care.
- **RPM** — Remote Physiologic Monitoring: physiologic data from the patient informing the care plan.
- **RTM** — Remote Therapeutic Monitoring: therapy adherence and response between visits.

Important limits — do not overstate these:
- Arxova provides the workflow; the practice remains responsible for each program's CMS requirements, staffing, and billing. For example, CoCM requires a behavioral health care manager and a psychiatric consultant, which Arxova does not supply.
- Arxova does not determine payer eligibility, qualify a practice for any program, perform billing or claims, or guarantee reimbursement.
- There is no two-way messaging, EHR write-back, or clinic-side medication reconciliation today.
- When a clinic uses the provider console, Arxova acts as the clinic's business associate under a Business Associate Agreement.

### Research clinics, sites, and institutions
Clinical research depends on finding eligible participants and verifying their history — and that history usually sits with providers the study team has no relationship with. Coordinators spend hours chasing outside records, and screening visits fail on history that could have been seen earlier.

With Arxova, participants bring their own medical records and wearable data to a study under the institution's own IRB-approved consent, signed in the app. Study teams get eligibility-relevant history earlier, with fewer records chases and fewer avoidable screen failures.

How it works:
- Matching to studies happens only if the participant opts in.
- Before someone agrees to a study, researchers see only rounded counts and broad characteristics.
- After the participant signs a study's consent, that study team receives their name, contact details, and relevant records to enroll them.
- Consent and withdrawal are recorded as timestamped, tamper-evident receipts — an audit-ready trail for monitors and auditors. Participants never handle a wallet or crypto.
- Arxova complements eConsent and EDC systems; it does not replace them.

Who partners: independent research sites, small and mid-size CROs, community hospital research programs, academic medical centers, biotech, and pharmaceutical teams. Offered as the participant app or as a white-label platform. Arxova also offers its consent infrastructure separately (Consent SDK, https://www.arxova.health/consent).

Business model: institutions pay Arxova for the matching and consent infrastructure. Arxova does not sell data, is not a data broker, and does not pay participants. Any compensation a study offers is between the participant and the study.

## Who built it

Arxova was founded by **Jose David "JD" Ramos, BSN, RN**, its founder and CEO. JD is a cardiac cath lab nurse in Miami with more than ten years at the bedside, across oncology, the ICU, and the cardiac cath lab. Over that time one lesson kept repeating: the data does not follow the patient. Arxova was built by healthcare workers who watched that gap play out from the clinical side, every shift, and decided it didn't have to stay that way.

JD signed the CARIN Code of Conduct: "patients should be able to hold us to clear rules about their data." Nurse.org featured the story: https://www.arxova.health/pulse/nurse-org-jd-ramos-arxova

Clinical research team:
- **Edgar Ramos Vieira, PhD** — Clinical Research Advisor. Professor of Physical Therapy and Associate Dean of Research & Faculty Development at Florida International University's Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences; more than 160 peer-reviewed publications.
- **Lilibeth Paz, BSc** — Fractional Clinical Research Operations Lead. More than nineteen years in clinical research operations across multiple therapeutic areas.

## Trust, privacy, and security

- **Ownership:** The user decides who can see their records. Sharing, clinic access, and research all require the user's action, and the user can revoke them.
- **No data sales:** Arxova does not sell, rent, trade, or monetize health data. It never uses commercial wearable data for research or shares it with third parties without explicit, study-specific consent.
- **Encryption:** Encrypted in transit and at rest. Source documents, ARIA conversations, and raw device data are additionally encrypted individually (AES-256-GCM). Arxova holds encryption keys for most records so features like ARIA and scores can work; records encrypted with the user's own key require that key or an authorized decryption path.
- **Proof, not promises:** Key access and consent events are recorded as timestamped, tamper-evident cryptographic receipts. Health values are never written to a public ledger. The specific infrastructure is background detail and is documented at https://www.arxova.health/security.
- **HIPAA:** Arxova is not a HIPAA covered entity. For clinics using the provider console, Arxova acts as a business associate under a BAA. See https://www.arxova.health/how-hipaa-applies.
- **SOC 2:** HealthKey Labs, LLC has a SOC 2 Type 1 report for the Security criteria, as of August 31, 2026, issued by Percilchofe CPA LLC on September 23, 2026. It is Type 1, not Type 2; a Type 2 examination is in progress and not yet completed. An independent penetration test is underway. SOC reports are attestations, not certifications.
- **CMS:** Arxova (HealthKey Labs, LLC) is an approved participant in the CMS Health Tech Ecosystem in two Patient Facing Apps categories: Conversational AI Assistants and Kill the Clipboard. Participation is not a CMS endorsement.
- **Patent:** Patent pending, Serial No. 64/010,350. Arxova is a trademark of HealthKey Labs, LLC.
